Who We Are
PositiveConnections is an independent information resource for people dating and building relationships after being diagnosed with herpes, HIV, or another STD. We are not a dating platform, a medical practice, or affiliated with any specific dating site - we write honest guides, compare real platforms, and point people toward resources that actually help.
Why We Started This
Getting an STD diagnosis is disorienting enough without also having to sort through outdated stigma, vague medical jargon, and dating advice that was never written with this experience in mind. Most of what's out there either ignores the topic entirely or treats it as shameful. We wanted something different: clear, practical, judgment-free guidance for the actual questions people have - when to disclose, how to bring it up, which platforms take privacy seriously, and how to build a relationship that starts with honesty instead of fear.
What We Actually Do
- Write practical guides on disclosure, dating, and relationships after diagnosis
- Independently review dating platforms relevant to this community, including where they fall short
- Share real stories from people navigating dating with an STD
- Maintain a directory of community and support resources
What We Don't Do
We don't give medical advice - for anything related to diagnosis, treatment, or your health, talk to a licensed healthcare provider. We don't accept payment in exchange for a positive review, and we say so clearly whenever a link on this site is an affiliate link that may earn us a commission.
A Note on Privacy
We know this is a sensitive topic. We don't ask visitors to create an account, log in, or share their status with us to use this site.
